Safa Rent Car

1) Overview

Safa Rent Car provides vehicle rentals in Marrakech and across Morocco.
All rentals include insurance with excess for damage or theft of the vehicle.

This means you are insured, but in some cases you may pay a maximum amount (excess) if you are responsible for the damage or if the responsible party is unknown.

⚠️ Important:
Insurance is valid only with a police report or insurance report.
Without these documents, the customer is fully responsible for all damages.

2) What is included

✔ Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) – covers damage to the car, with excess
✔ Theft protection – with excess
✔ 24/7 roadside assistance

3) When you are NOT at fault

If the accident is not your fault, you pay 0 DH, provided that:

  • A police report or accident report (constat amiable) is submitted

  • All documents are clear and complete

  • The insurance confirms you are not responsible

Required documents:

  • Police report or signed accident report

  • Photos of vehicles, damages, and license plates

  • Third-party insurance details (if available)

  • Driver license and rental contract

If responsibility cannot be proven, the excess may apply.

4) Excess (deductible)

The excess is the maximum amount you may pay if you are responsible.

Approximate amounts:

  • Economy cars: around 600 €

  • Compact / family cars: 700 – 900 €

  • SUV / 4×4: 1,000 – 1,900 €

  • Luxury cars: 2,000 – 3,500 €

The exact amount depends on the vehicle and is shown in your rental agreement.

5) Security deposit

  • A refundable deposit may be required at pick-up

  • The deposit is released after the car is checked

  • Bank release time: usually 3 to 14 working days

Some vehicles may offer a no-deposit option, depending on availability.

6) Driver conditions

  • Minimum age: usually 21 years

  • Driving license valid for at least 2 years

  • Only drivers written in the contract are insured

  • Driving allowed only inside Morocco

  • Off-road driving is not allowed

7) What is NOT covered

Insurance does not cover:

  • Driving under alcohol or drugs

  • Dangerous or reckless driving

  • Unauthorized drivers

  • Damage to interior, roof, undercarriage

  • Engine damage due to wrong fuel

  • Lost or stolen keys

  • Personal belongings inside the car

  • Tyres, wheels, and glass (unless stated otherwise)

  • Accidents without a police report

8) In case of accident or damage

  1. Ensure safety first

  2. Contact Safa Rent Car immediately

  3. Do not admit responsibility

  4. Call the police if required

  5. Take photos of the damage and location

  6. Provide all documents within 24 hours

Failure to provide documents may result in full liability.

9) Roadside assistance

24/7 assistance is available.
Towing is provided to the nearest partner garage if needed.

Replacement vehicles depend on availability and incident type.

10) Repairs and charges

  • Repairs must be approved by Safa Rent Car

  • Unauthorized repairs are not refunded

  • The customer may be charged for:

    • Excess (if applicable)

    • Fines or tolls

    • Towing (if at fault)

    • Administration fees

11) Documents required at pick-up

  • Passport

  • Valid driving license

  • Credit or debit card (if deposit applies)

  • Flight details (for airport delivery)

12) Refunds

  • Any unused deposit is refunded after inspection

  • Excess differences are refunded after final repair invoices

  • Bank delays may apply

13) Customer responsibilities

  • Respect Moroccan traffic laws

  • Drive carefully

  • Lock the vehicle when parked

  • Use correct fuel

  • Report incidents immediately

14) Updates

Safa Rent Car may update these insurance conditions when required.
